Terms of Use

1. Agreement to terms

By accessing or using the Tech in Yoruba website and services (the “Site”), including the learning portal, courses, and related features, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

2. Description of services

Tech in Yoruba provides an online learning platform where:

  • Students can enroll in courses and cohorts, attend live sessions, access materials, and receive certificates.
  • Instructors can deliver courses, schedule sessions, and use integrated meeting tools (e.g. Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams) to host live sessions.

Use of the Site is subject to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

3. Accounts and eligibility

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when registering and keep your account details up to date.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your password secure.
  • You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction (or have parental consent) to use the Site.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or for other legitimate reasons.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
  • Share account credentials or let others use your account.
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users, instructors, or staff.
  • Copy, scrape, or redistribute course content or materials without permission.
  • Interfere with the Site’s operation, security, or infrastructure.
  • Use the Site to send spam or unsolicited communications.

We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts for violations.

5. Course content and sessions

  • Course content, materials, and session arrangements are provided for personal learning. Unless we or the instructor state otherwise, you may not redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit them.
  • Live sessions may be delivered via third‑party meeting services (e.g. Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams). Your use of those services is also subject to their terms and policies.
  • Session times, links, and formats may change; we and instructors will make reasonable efforts to communicate changes.

6. Meeting integrations (instructors)

  • Instructors may connect external meeting accounts (e.g. Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams) to create meeting links for sessions.
  • Connecting an account is voluntary. We use the permissions you grant only to create meetings and store the meeting link, ID, and passcode so students can join. Our use of this data is described in our Privacy Policy.
  • You must comply with the terms and policies of each meeting provider you connect.

7. Intellectual property

  • The Site, its design, branding, and original materials are owned by Tech in Yoruba or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works without permission.
  • Course content may be owned by instructors or licensors; use is limited to the licence granted through the Site.

8. Disclaimers

  • The Site and content are provided “as is.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error‑free, or secure operation.
  • We do not endorse third‑party meeting services or control their availability or performance. Issues with those services are not our responsibility.
  • Educational outcomes depend on many factors; we do not guarantee specific results from using the Site or any course.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tech in Yoruba and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the Site or reliance on any content. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months before the claim arose, or one hundred (100) units of local currency if you paid nothing.

10. Indemnity

11. Changes to terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the revised terms on the Site and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Site.

12. General

  • If any part of these terms is held invalid, the rest remains in effect.
  • Our failure to enforce a right does not waive that right.
