That changes today. We’ve officially rolled out an automated Cohort Deferment Feature directly inside your student portal!

What’s New with Cohort Deferment?

You no longer need to worry about back-and-forth messages, delayed replies, or losing your place in the program.

With our new built-in feature, you can request a pause in just a few clicks. Once approved, you will automatically be moved to the next upcoming cohort, giving you the flexibility to step away and pick back up right where you left off.

How to Apply for Deferment in 3 Quick Steps

Applying for a cohort transfer takes less than a minute. Here is how to do it:

Step 1: Log in to your Tech in Yoruba Student Dashboard.

Step 2: Navigate to your Profile / Enrolled Cohort section.

Step 3: Click “Request Deferment”, provide your reason, and submit.

Once submitted, our team will process the request, and your profile will be queued to transition into the next cohort start date automatically.

Important Rules to Keep in Mind

To ensure a smooth transition into your new cohort, keep these tips in mind before submitting your application:

• Watch the Deadline: Deferment requests must be submitted prior to the cohort’s official deferment deadline. Late submissions may affect your eligibility.
• Stay Active in the Community: Deferring your active classes doesn’t mean leaving the community! You will retain access to community channels so you can stay updated and connected while waiting for your new start date.
• One-Step Transfer: Your spot, progress, and record transfer directly into the immediate next cohort, so you won’t need to re-apply or re-register.
